The TSR 17 is intended to monitor the temperature of the motor coils, generators and transformers. it detects the temperature of the windings over the change in resistance of the PTC thermisters or the position of the thermo switches. the circuit is designed to detect a break in the continuity of the detection circuit ans short-circuits (also earth faults). After detecting a failure the unit can be reset by means of a reset button on the TSR 17 or by interrupting the supply voltage for > 200ms.
